Instagram embeds just not showing up in posts

Hello, I’ve just started a blog on WP.com, and for some time today, I’ve been trying to get some Instagram images of mine to show up in my wordpress.com blog posts. Following the instructions on http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/instagram/ , this should easy enough, but the images themselves just won’t show up in the post! Example post: http://alindenverre.wordpress.com/2013/08/05/instatest/
Simply posting the Instagram url results in just the url showing up in the post, and using [instagram url=link] shortcode (with or without the addition of a width parameter) results in a blank line only. I’ve tried it with different instagram images of mine, but no difference. I’ve also attempted using different themes, but that did not change the results either.
I’ve searched around, but have gotten no closer to a solution, unfortunately–most results link back to the steps on the official WP.com support page that I’ve already followed. I’ve seen WP.com blogs (with themes I’ve also tried) that DO seem to have successful Instagram embeds in the body of their posts, so I know it SHOULD be possible–I’m just not getting any closer.
I feel like I’m stuck right now, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!

On each of those links to your instagram images, please use the “unlink” button (the one that looks like a broken link) in the Visual Editor.
Each must appear on its own line with no errant code like a line break or paragraph tag.

I’m having a problem embedding a video! I used the instagram embed tool — but when I preview the post no video shows up. I also tried the Embed Instagram tool I found online (3rd party) and that didn’t work either! I’m so frustrated. I just want to embed this video at a 760 width (my full post width) into my post.
help! I’m not a coder :(
