  I would like to add the Instagram badge on the bottom of my site.

  Is your Instagram account public? Or is is private and therefore blocked when it comes to display of images in the widget on your blog?

  This particular widget needs to be authorized using the WP admin widget page rather than the customizer. If you go to Dashboard > Appearance> Widgets from the WP Admin dashboard and authorize the widget from there, you’ll have much better luck.
