I can’t believe there’s no instagram widget on WordPress. I signed up and set my blog up figuring I just didn’t know how to add it and have only just realised it’s not possible. Considering changing to blogger now, because one of the main things I want on my blog is an instagram grid like you can get from Instagme. I also want a button at the top of my licorice layout like the facebook and twitter ones where my followers can press on it to go to my instagram page. It’s essential for a blog in 2013! instagram, please, please,please!!!!

I have been searching for a way to add this thinking it was me simply not knowing how to do it. Shocked to find out it is not available. I am pretty sure wordpress is the only platform I have seen not offer this feature, even the free hosting sites offer it. Definitely a must have and thinking of switching platforms because of this!

Yes, an instagram widget would be great. Right now I’m using the flickr widget, and then sharing every instagram post to flickr so that it will show up on my blog.

The problem with that is I don’t want to drive traffic to a flickr account, which I only started to overcome this wordpress problem, I want traffic and followers on my instagram account. The instagram and flickr communities are very different.

And someone else said it above, but it is really strange to have to convince a blog site of the value of an instagram widget.

If you check out your widgets administration screen (Appearance -> Widgets), I think you’ll find something you’ll like. :)
