Instagram widget has stopped working

    Hi everyone – it’s the first time I’ve needed to ask a question on here since starting to use WordPress 4 months ago! The blog I need help with is santebonviveur.com

    I installed the Instagram Widget on my site 4 months ago and it’s been working absolutely fine until the last few weeks. But now under the Instagram title in the sidebar my site displays the message ‘There was an error retrieving images from Instagram. An attempt will be remade in a few minutes.’ However this never changes, Instagram pictures now never load, and this is the same in all device views and whether I am at home or out (so e.g. I don’t think it’s a strength of wifi connection issue).

    Does anyone please have any ideas about what’s going on or how to correct this?

    Hi, @foxtress,

    What is the URL of your site? I don’t see content on the site you listed.

    Also, please see this thread, as I think they are currently working on the widget. I’ve noticed my own isn’t coming through the same way on my site, too but if I update it to a single column, it seems to work better – not sure if that helps in this case.

    I would subscribe to that thread in the meantime.

    Hi @christinemaze

    This is a link to my site. Thanks very much for your helpful suggestions – I’ll try a single column which would be better than nothing if it works. And I’ll subscribe to that thread as you suggest as yes it does look like they’re on to problems with Instagram. Cheers!

    @foxtress,

    Have you attempted to remove and re-install that widget? Just in case that will at least bring up your pics. I’m going to take a look at your site, too, in case there is something else going on – to at least remove the error message.

    Thanks so much @christinemaze. No I haven’t yet attempted reinstalling. I was sort of concerned not to make things any worse in case there was a quick fix. I may do that though as it doesn’t look good sitting there with the error message currently anyway, so if reinstallation didn’t work I’d just keep it off until a fix is found.

    @christinemaze
    Just posting to acknowledge that you already provided the relevant link above. :)

    @foxtress,

    Yes, I would reinstall it, and then (hopefully) you will be where the rest of us are (with the bug). ;-)

    Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks @timethief !

    Hi again @christinemaze and @timethief. I went ahead and reinstalled and as you suggested that seems to have brought me to a place where I have the straight bug like everyone else. So that’s progress I think, haha! i.e. I’ve got some photos showing but they look rubbish as they are different sizes etc. I’ve relayed all this on the other thread you kindly directed me to too. Thanks again for your help.

    Okay, good to know you are kind of halfway there. :)

    That single column seems to remove missing photos and such, as a temporary fix to the bug. Thanks for posting your update in the other thread, too!
