Instagram Widget not working
-
I have followed all of the instructions for installing the Instagram widget in the sidebar on my blog, however even after I (successfully) authorize access, I get a message on WordPress saying ‘There was a problem authorizing with Instagram. Please try again in a moment.’ I’ve tried numerous times, on different days, and the problem persists.
I logged into my Instagram account on my PC, and it shows that WordPress does have access, so Instagram thinks it’s working fine.
I have Googled the issue, and the only solution I can find didn’t help.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Make sure you are logged into Instagram when doing the widget set up.
The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with your actual blog’s name in that URL.
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
Navigate to > Dashboard > Appreance > Widgets
* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with your actual blog’s name in that URL.
The Instagram widget allows you to display your latest Instagram photos in your site’s sidebar and the guide for setting up the only one that will work on a wordpress.COM hosted blog is here https://en.support.wordpress.com/instagram/instagram-widget/
Also, note this support doc
https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibilityIs your Instagram account public? Or is is private, and therefore, blocked when it comes to display of images in the widget on your blog? And, are you logged in when authorizing it?
This particular widget needs to be authorized using the WP admin widget page rather than the customizer. If you go to Dashboard > Appearance> Widgets from the WP Admin dashboard and authorize the widget from there, you’ll have much better luck. Hi timethief, thank you so much for the swift reply. I have followed your instructions to a T, and still am getting the error. I have tried logging in and out of Instagram and WordPress, using both Chrome and Explorer. Still nothing.
To address your questions:
-I am definitely logged into my Instagram account on my computer right now.
-It is definitely public.
-I am using the WP admin widget page (rather than the Customizer).
-I have tried the trick others have suggested of saving the widget first before authorizing it.Yet, nothing works.

Solved! OK, so hopefully this will work for others, since based on my Google search this appears to be a common problem. The steps below assume that you have already logged into Instagram on your computer and that it is a public Instagram account.
Step 1: Open the WP Admin page, and navigate to Appearance > Widgets.
Step 2: Drag and drop the Instagram widget to the sidebar where you want it.
Step 3: Click ‘save’ but do not click ‘authorize.’
Step 4: In a separate tab, open up your Customizer, and navigate to the relevant sidebar’s widgets.
Step 5: You should see Instagram there. Click authorize from the Customizer. This method worked for me. Basically, I had to use the WP Admin to add the Instagram widget, but I had to use the Customizer to authorize access. Go figure.
