Instagram widget problem
-
Hi,
My Instagram widget is not working correctly. I have the setting of 2 images, 2 columns but only one image is shown and the image is cut (top left corner showing only).
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Now two images are showing but in a totally wrong format where just a small stripe is showing of each image.
Everything was looking ok until today (Dec 14). I noticed in some other Instagram widget threads it was stated that an earlier bug was fixed. It looks like this bugfix introduced another bug, at least for me.

When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. I want to bring two issues to your attention.
The first is that you are using a retired theme and themes are retired when they no longer support all WordPress.COM features. The recommendation is to switch to using a newer theme.
Go to https://wordpress.com/themes/ and type in your keywords there.
re: switching themes
Note that switching themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account
If you do not have the required access and someone else registered the site you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them act.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.

I am having a similar problem on my blog too. Do I need to take the same steps and change theme? I would rather not do that as I like it!
-
The second issue is a tag spamming one.
All reasons for non-appearance of posts on WordPress.COM Topics (categories and Tags) pages and in the WordPress.com Reader can be found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts
1. You are using too many categories or tags. In most cases, there’s no need to assign more than a handful of tags per post. If you use more than 15 tags and categories (total), your posts will not appear on tag pages (because you don’t want to see irrelevant content showing up there, and neither do we).
You need to edit the posts and remove the excess tags/categories. See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#go-back-and-edit-posts
Staff will assist with the Instagram widget issue as soon as they can. Please be patient while waiting.

@thelibrain
Please do not post into threads created by others so those subscribed do not get unwanted and unnecessary email. Instead use the Add New Topics link to create your own thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 -
@jojjenito
I pointed out that you do have two issues aside from the Instagram widget one that you are apparently unaware of. -
@thelibrain your theme isn’t retired. It’d seem there’s an issue with the instagram widget, which is one of the original poster’s issues.
Let’s start a new thread just for that so @jojjenito can work out any other issues here without getting them tied up with the instagram issue.

@jojjenito, okay – I’ve caught up with the posts in this thread.
You’ve got the instagram issue, you’re using a retired theme (I don’t think that’s causing the instagram problem), and you’re using too many tags in each post — which just limits your exposure, so it’s not really a big problem that staff needs to resolve. @timethief mentioned it to help you out.
-
@timethief Thanks for mentioning any possible other issues but I would have appreciated if you could have kept this thread solely about the Instagram widget problem.
The retired theme and possible tag spamming is not an issue for me. If it were I would have started threads about that.
If the Instagram problem is handled in another thread, please, close this thread.

I tend to agree that one issue per thread makes things a lot easier :) We’ve now got three threads on the instagram issue, so we’ll consolidate here:
