Hi,
Have you followed the instructions in the Instagram Widget support page, including the Authorizing Instagram Account Access section?

pantsthatgoplaces – do you still need help with the Instagram widget? If so, let’s do a little troubleshooting.
To rule out a browser issue:
– Please tell me what browser and version you’re using? If you’re not sure, please visit http://supportdetails.com/ For example, Firefox 51.0.2.
– Could you please try a different browser and let me know if it works there, and what browser/version it is?
To rule out an issue with the Customizer:
– Could you please try adding the widget via the WP Admin Widget area instead? The Customizer method works for most folks, but testing this is a way to help narrow down where the problem lies. Head here to do that:

It doesn’t matter if your Instagram is private or public, you should be able to authorize the connection either way. Viewers will be able to see the small thumbnails if your account is private, but won’t be able to view the full-sized image. That’s not ideal, so you’ll probably want to make sure your account is public if it’s not already.
Let me know how it goes
