install maintenance page extension with premium

    Hello, i am amazed that with a premium (96€!!!) i cannot instal any widget on my website???
    I cannot instal any maintenance page, akismet, or else!!!
    Why is that and why are we forced to buy a business plan to do something which is free with other hosting like OVH, Hebergeur discount etc???

    Hi there,

    WordPress sites hosted elsewhere are called self-hosted WordPress.org sites. There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about the differences, please check the following article that details the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org

    On WordPress.com sites, we take care of a lot of things like security, updates, etc. that do not come with default WordPress.org sites. If you check the link above, you’ll see the differences. Our system is set up with the most common features already built-in, so you don’t need to add plugins for them again.

    For example, you mentioned Akismet. Akismet is already running on all WordPress.com sites. You don’t have to install it again. You can put your website on a coming soon mode by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/#coming-soon

    You’ll need the WordPress.com Business plan only if your desired feature is not already built-in and you need to use a third-party plugin on WordPress.com.
