  How can i install a new theme that i have in a zip file?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can’t install an external theme in a WordPress.com blog. Part of the reason our security is so good here is that installing external themes is banned.

  can i choose to show a sample of a post in a blog and then a “read more” button to all the post? Can i do this with any blog?

  Yes, and in fact many of the themes available on your Themes dashboard page have this built in. If you want to use the Read More on a different theme, you just Write the post and on the Write Post page, you decide where you want the break, put the cursor there, and click the Read More button, which looks like a dotted line across a sheet of paper.
