install wordpress locally localhost wordpress ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

    I am trying to install wordpress locally. I downloaded wamp and wordpress and followed several youtube videos on how to do this. Before I can ever open the wordpress install.php file on my URL browser (localhost/wordpress/…) i keep getting this ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error. I see the wordpress folder when I open localhost, but when i try to click on the folder or type it into the url i get the error. I have cleared my cache, renamed and edited my config.php file as instructed, and uninstalled and reinstalled wamp and wordpress several times to troubleshoot but nothing seems to work. Please help.

    Hi, you are in the wrong forum.
    This forum is only for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.com
    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    And you should ask in the WordPress.org forum.
