Installing a theme

    Hey, I’ve just started with WP.com and my plan is to build a site with Divi. To install the Divi theme I first need to buy a WP.com plan. I would like to go for a free plan. The thing is I already own a domain (hosted by a 3rd party and currently running on Squarespace) and would like to build the site on a free domain in WP.com and transfer it later to the domain I own and maybe to WP.org. Is that possible?

    If you want to install a third party theme or plugin on the wordpress.com platform, you must upgrade to the Business Plan.
    If you already have a domain and hosting, you really don’t need a paid wordpress.com plan but you must install the open source wordpress.org
    You can’t transfer a domain and hosting to wordpress.org as wordpress.org only offers the open source software to install on your own hosting.
