Installing bloggingthemes.com template
-
I’ve downloaded a template from bloggingthemes.com. However, I don’t know how to get the downloaded files activated into my blog. How do I do this?

You cannot download themes from other sites and use them at wordpress.com. Even wordpress.org templates are different from wordpress.com themes. The two run two different kinds of software and the templates are not interchangeable.
Here at wordpress.com you can choose a theme from those you find here -> Dashboard -> Presentation -> Themes.
If that does not suit you and you are technically adept then you can choose a theme from the same spot, purchase an upgrade and customize the cascading style sheets to change the blog’s appearance. -
Just for reference, this is mentioned in the FAQ posted at the head of these forums. :)
We’re on a shared environment here so we’re not allowed file level access to teh software running the blogs. If we as end users were, it would be child’s play to gain access to everybody’s blogs.

That sucks…I guess I’m going back to blogger :( I can install my templates there without any problems.

If you value being able to hack at your theme over and above security issues then Blogger is definitely the correct blog host for you – bye, bye.
