Installing Google Analytics
-
Hi. I would like to install Google Analytics into my wordpress blog. I’ve read online that this is a plugin you can only add to a wordpress.org blog rather than a wordpress.com blog (which mine is). There seems to be an option to upgrade to a business account which will install Google Analytics for you but it costs £80. Is there a way of switching over to wordpress.org and using the free plug in so I don’t have to pay?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This support document details how to move your blog to WordPress.org: https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
However, WordPress.org is self-hosted and if your goal it to not pay extra money for using Google Analytics, you are out of luck. With WordPress.org you will need to pay for web-hosting.

You can now upgrade to the business plan for wordpress.com and get to use it…but it’d be cheaper probably to use .org and just learn the skills. But if you’re really interested in having it and staying on .com then check out the plans.

Thank you both for all your help. I think I will try and move to .org and see how I go. Thanks again!

Hang on, switching to a .org blog will cost you about the same amount per year anyway in hosting fees. Hosting starts at $120 a year or so, plus the cost of a theme, plus domain name, plus you do all your own tech support.
