installing ‘like’ buttons on static pages
-
Hi,
I’d like to install ‘like’ buttons on my static pages. The blog allows others to post pieces of writing and it would be helpful if each of these could be ”liked’.
There doesn’t seem to be an option to enable ‘likes’ on non-posts. Please tell me there is a way around this??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, there is not. The sharing stuff is for posts only. Pages are meant for content that seldom, if ever changes, such as an about page.

Actually, wait. I just looked and my blog here has the like buttons on the pages as well.

@TSP: You were partially right. WordPress.com “Like” buttons only work on individual posts. Facebook “Like” buttons and other sharing services work on whatever the blogger chooses (pages, posts and/or index).

Thanks to both for your advice.
I’ve been messing around with this all afternoon and now ready to just install the Facebook ‘like’ button. I assume that means every ‘like’ will show up on that person’s news feed. Would prefer it to be a straight ‘like’ button but what’re ya gonna do?
thanks again.
