Installing Machform on wordpress.com site

  I was wondering if it is possible to install Machform on a wordpress.com site. I have my own domain, but obviously not my own hosting. To install Machform, it needs the FTP address, username and password and database info. Would this only be possible on a website with your own hosting?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  We have no FTP access on WordPress.com so it is impossible to install Machform here. If it is critical for your site, then you will need to go to WordPress.org.

  I had been considering switching to wordpress.org. Is it possible to install and setup wordpress.org, but not have your wordpress.com site affected until you go live?

  Certainly! Once you have your WordPress.org site set up, then you can export your wp.com site to the wp.org site. If you have followers and stats, then install JetPack and staff can transfer them for you too.

  I have my own domain name, but not my own hosting. If I purchase my own hosting, will I have transfer my domain to this host to complete the wordpress.org installation process? If so, how will this affect my current wordpress.com site?
