Installing Themes
-
Hey guys,
I got a wordpress blog about 2 weeks ago, have a domain forwarded setup which is shirtstuckedin.com > shirtsuckedin.wordpress.com.
I tried connecting my blog via filezilla (ftp) and it just ‘doesn’t work at all. ( this is to try and install the ‘mandigo’ theme onto my blog! )
I also have looked in the admin>appearance>themes and people have said there is a “install themes” button in here, but I can’t find it anywhere? all I have at the top is Manage Themes and no ‘Install Themes’ beside it?
Help!
Tx!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your blog is still physically hosted here at wordpress.COM. Having your own domain name does not change that, which means you are still under the same restrictions which include not being able to upload themes, plugins, etc.
What you have to do is to hire a web host such as godaddy, bluehost, etc. and then install and configure the wordpress.ORG software on that web host. You will be responsible for all upgrades and installations, all backups and all troubleshooting. If something goes wrong, you have to figure it out and fix it.

Also, see this support document for the differences between wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .
