Installing themes

Hello, I just obtained a new site on wordpress. I took the free plan. I already have the betheme and was wondering if it was possible for me to upload this theme with a free account.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I ended up with a theme that looks nothing like the one I chose and the option to choose a different theme doesn’t seem to be available. I’ve tried numerous times to look at the themes, including completely logging off & starting over. I’m stuck with a theme I didn’t choose and can’t get rid of it or check out other themes. Arrgh!!

You can change your theme any time you want as long as you are choosing one from the theme showcase. When you click on the link for themes: https://theme.wordpress.com/ find one you like, then click on activate, nothing happens?

Yes, I had tried to choose an alternate theme and I kept getting the same one over & over. I finally went to a different location in WordPress and found a way to choose a different theme. I’m in the process of trying to figure out how to get it to look like the sample. I chose “espied” and have yet to figure out how to get the thumbnail format. I’d learned WordPress several years ago (had hoped to use the one I’d set up previously, but wasn’t able to) and am finding it to be more confusing now than it had been when I had done it before. It is turning out to be pretty time-consuming as I’m looking for “how-to” instructions that are more specific than “choose and you’re on your way”.

I figured it out for downloading your own themes on to wordpress. If you have a godaddy or a server side to your website, you can log on to the site and install the themes that way. If however you choose the free wordpress site and use their servers you are limited to the themes that they have for free or to the ones you can buy. If you are on wordpress.com then you are stuck to the themes they provide. If you have wordpress.org you can customize and load your own themes.
