Installing Themes

  Hello!
  I recently joined wordpress and saw that I could manually install my themes. I’ve been looking up youtube videos that show you how to upload a downloaded design to your wordpress by using the “install theme” tab, that’s located next to the the “manage theme” tab, but it doesn’t seem to be available to me. Are the youtube videos outdated and the install theme tab is no longer available? Or is that only available through upgrades?

  Hi!

  I think the videos you are watching are in relation to a different type of WordPress blog, namely self-hosted WordPress.org blogs. Check this page out for more info on the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  In regards to uploading themes on WordPress.com:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/

  Although you cannot upload your own themes on WordPress.com, there’s plenty of choices out there! You can browse through them by going to Appearance -> Themes (from your blog dashboard)
