  Hi, I’m planning to revamp my current website, just wondering, does installing wordpress using ftp will affect/overwrite my current website/files?

  Hi,

  FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access is not allowed to any WordPress.com blogs. You can only download and install WordPress on a self-hosted site. The following support document explains the difference: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
