Installing/Using MathJax in Blogs
-
Hello:
I am wondering if it is possible to add MathJax in WordPress to allow me to present mathematical expressions professionally in some of my blogs?
In my search for an answer to my question, it appears you need access to the server?
I do not have a Premium account with WordPress nor do I have access to my account allowing me to install MathJax. Therefore, should someone respond to my inquiry, please keep that in mind.Basically, MathJax uses html tags to generate professional mathematical expressions.
Thank you for your consideration and I await any word you may send.
Regards,
Jim

Hi there –
Mathjax provides plugins that can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress.ORG blogs.
Mathjax code is Javascript and all Javascript is removed by WordPress.COM software for security purposes. The support page has more information regarding code and Javascript usage: http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
However, as an alternative, WordPress.COM does support Latex:

Hello:
Sorry I didn’t get back sooner, but here is exactly what I did:
Step 1: I went to the website http://en.support.wordpress.com/latex/
Step 2: Logged into WordPress
Step 3: Created a draft post
Step 4: Switched to Text mode
Step 5: Copy and pasted the following code form the URL in step 1, shown here:
$latex ihbarfrac{partial}{partial t}left|Psi(t)right>=Hleft|Psi(t)right>$Step 6: Switched to Visual mode
Step 7: Here is what was rendered:
$latex ihbarfrac{partial}{partial t}left|Psi(t)right>=Hleft|Psi(t)right>$Did not see expect result after following the example on the website in Step 1.
Any ideas on that I did wrong?
Thanks for your help and I await any word you may send.
