    Hi,

Unless your query involves account or personal information, you can just post the question here and the moderators will help you out.

If it’s something that the Staff must look at, you can add the “modlook” tag to this thread, and they will get back to you.

Live Chat support is available to WordPress.com Business subscriber. If you have a Business plan for one your sites, you will see the Live Chat option in the WordPress.com dashboard.

More information on Live Chat: https://en.support.wordpress.com/live-chat/

More information on the Business plan: https://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/

I must admit I am not aware of where to find the LIve Chat option (if you’re a Business subscriber), so I have tagged this thread for Staff’s attention.

If you already own a domain with another registrar, and you want to use it on WordPress.com, you can “map” it to your current wordpress.com site for $13 a year. This will allow you to use all the features of WordPress.com on your domain of choice. More information is available here:

will this show my own url in the top bar once on the wordpress page?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Yes.

Suppose your current WordPress.com site is flowlondon.wordpress.com, and the domain you have purchased is flowlondon.com.

After successful mapping, your WordPress.com site will become flowlondon.com, and anyone who tries to access flowlondon.wordpress.com will be redirected to flowlondon.com.

my site is currently http://www.flowldn.com when people click the link once their on the website it comes up wordpress in the url link bar at the top. so by mapping my own domain which is http://www.flowldn.com will the url link bar at the top whilst on the page also change?

    Hi there!

Although your domain seems to be forwarding to your site, it is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers. You can view the current name servers on this page:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=flowldn.com

You’ll need to update the name servers with your domain registrar. This article explains how:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

The name servers for WordPress.com are:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

If you’re not sure how to change them, please contact your registrar for assistance.

Once you have updated the name servers, it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to be pointed to your WordPress.com site. At that point, you will want to update the primary domain name for your site to flowldn.com so that it will display in the address bar to site visitors. Here are is our support document that walks you through that change:
