instant update notifier

  Hi,

  I am trying to import an instant update notification option in my sidebar – actually want something like they have at the ‘whereareyou.net’ sites where it sends an email right after a new post, but can only find info on feedburner, which only sends email once a day if new post has been added.

  Does anybody have an idea on how to create an instant update notifier??
  I think an RSS feed would solve my issue – but RSS is not too user friendly, as one has to subscribe etc. I want to keep everything as simple as possible. (like as at whereareyou.net)
