Instullation Problems on a Mac

I have been struggling trying to open the zip drives onto my mac to run the downloaded wordpress. I have a zip opener for my mac and the other applications necessary. I am not too good with computers and am definitely struggling with something that will most likely end up being simple.

If you want to run wordpress directly on your mac, you need to get and install a program called MAMP. That will allow you to set up the MySQL database required and also to install and configure wordpress to run on your Mac. Mac’s have Apache and all the PHP and such built right in and setting up the MAMP is quite easy.

I should mention that I’ve been using MAMP to allow me to do theme customization, research and modifications to wordpress for nearly two years now and it has worked flawlessly for me. Never a problem.
