Integrate with Shutterfly

  Just thought I would mention that I love WordPress and I love Shutterfly. I surely wish there were more integration. For instance, I’d like to be able to easily put my Shutterfly videos at WordPress. I just looked into Vodpod tonight and can probably figure it out, but not enough brain cells to do it at midnight. I also link one of my non-searchable blogs to Shutterfly using a menu tab, which is nice, because boy do they have wonderful layouts over there for photos, but I sort of hate sending friends and family away from my blog. Wish I could get that kind of page into WordPress easily – the big collage pages they have at Shutterfly are so easy to create there, but nothing similar here at least as far as I can understand.

  To insert a Shutterfly photobook in you blog, copy this part of the embed code:
  <embed etc. etc. etc............swf"> </embed>
  and turn it to this:
  [gigya etc. etc. etc............swf" ]
  Paste into HTML post or page editor (or in a text widget for your sidebar). Dimensions can be changed.

  Same thing for videos, if the code is similar.

  Thank you for the suggestion – tho I don’t know what you mean “turn it into this”. I had seen somewhere in forums or Support that gigya wouldn’t work because Shutterfly uses Flash so I did not pursue gigya further. If that is not true, I will have to look into gigya – tho’ it is a complete mystery to me.

  I am specifically looking at video rather than photobook.

  I do know that when I just pulled the url and tried to insert that as a line like you would for youtube, that did not work.

  No, the gigya shortcode is precisely for flash.

  I don’t know how to explain “copy this and turn it to this” any further. Give us the link to a Shutterfly video you want to insert and I’ll give you a more concrete demonstration.

  Oh wow. Realizing I did not know what an embed code was and was just giving url. I still don’t know but am starting to know what I don’t know.

  If you copy the embed code and paste it here between backticks, I can convert it for you (if it’s flash).
