Integrating a blog within an existing website, previously coded in HTML

My website was most recently redesigned in early 2017 by my current web developer. The site has been overhauled several times since its original launch in 2001. Although I like the simpler (but elegant in their simplicity) sites I’seen in WordPress, I’d prefer not to convert the entire site into WordPress. My purpose (at least in the immediate future) is to add a blog page to my current website. I work as a consultant/resume writer in the career industry and — because the industry is largely driven by LinkedIn — I need to gain visibility for blog posts by sharing them on LinkedIn. I’ve been told that I could use depositphotos.com to add a graphic/photo (or other resources) to my LI posts. Can what I’m asking be done? Is it difficult for a nontechnical person (me) to do this? If I need to, I would consider hiring a WordPress consultant to do this for me. Help would be appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Doug Morrison

  • Hi Doug,

You can certainly create a blog here on WordPress.com and integrate on your website. You can either add a link from your site to your blog (separate web address) or map it as a subdomain to your existing site (e.g. https://blog.yoursite.com/). Whatever the case, we can help you with it.

Also, regarding LinkedIn, you can use our Publicize feature and automatically post your blog articles on LinkedIn:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
