Integrating a Gambio Shop (or any PHP software) in WordPress via iFrame

    Hello,

We would like to open a Gambio Shop within an iFrame of WordPress on a self-hosted WordPress site.

This integration has so far failed, because the Shop doesn’t seem to be able to pass on parameters when it runs in an iFrame of WordPress.

Does anybody know a workaround for this? As my searches indicate, this problem doesn’t seem to be specific to the Gambio shop, but applies to running any PHP software within an iFrame of WordPress.

Gambio Support says this is not an issue that has anything to do with Gambio and we should ask the people from WordPress.

We have found a few plugins on WordPress.org called “Advanced iFrame Pro”, “iFrame”, etc. which seem to be designed to pass on a few parameters for a few specific sites (such as YouTube) via tags, but in general WordPress seems to remove HTML/URL parameters the shop wishes to pass on … due to security reasons, as we have been told.

Does anybody know a mehod to make this work?

The reason why we want to do it is to preserve the WordPress layout and accessibility of the WordPress menus through out the whole site (even when people are browsing the shop).

Or can we dump the idea to run a PHP shop software within a WordPress iFrame entirely?

Our shop would be running on the same domain, so these “security concerns” wouldn’t really apply.

    Thanks for any idea…

  • Hi oddleifr!

The forums for a self-hosted WordPress website is over at, https://wordpress.org/support/, and I suggest you post your question there as you will get a better answer.

These are the forums for WordPress.com hosted websites.

    Difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org

    I hope you come right!
