  Hi @yasminwatson, are you trying integrate a blog into a site, or create a blog without making it like a website?

  If you can clarify, and share a link to the site you’re working on, we’ll point you in the right direction for help. This may help too:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ — it tells how to make a site rather than a blog, but you’d just do the opposite of those directions.
