Integration of WordPress with Yoast

Hi. I’m a newbie to web design and hold a personal plan with WordPress.com
I tried to install a yoast plugin and as per their instructions to upload a folder to the ftp. However, when I asked WordPress for help, they said they do not offer ftp details on my plan (only on wordpress.org)

So, to cut this short – is there a way to install Yoast plugin into the WordPress.com platform? If not, is there an alternative way of controlling the SEO aspect of my site, apart from the default settings, which offer no opportunity to add the meta tags, nor any other meta information for other sites other then the home page.

    Many thanks
    Katia

is there a way to install Yoast plugin into the WordPress.com platform?

    No.

You cannot do that on any wordpress.COM hosted site, regardless of upgrades.

WordPress.com blogs have built-in plugins only.

You are confusing wordpress.COM hosted blogs and wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.

Blogger installed plugin capability does not exist on WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.

For that type of functionality, you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.

Hi timethief and thank you for your reply.
yes, I think I got a clearer picture now of the differences between .com and .org WordPress platforms.

Now, do you think WP.COM has a decent SEO capability, or I would be better off moving to WP.ORG if I would like to focus on SEO a bit more?

    Many thanks
    Katia
