integration with an email marketing provider with EU based servers

    European Union data privacy regulation is very restrictive. An email address is considered PII, even if not provided along with name or surname. Everyone who has a newsletter available to their users have to comply with this regulation and make sure the email provider also complies.

    It is much easier for an email marketing provider to comply with european regulation if servers are located within the EU. This is why WordPress or Mailchimp newsletter solutions are not a good option for european bloggers. Unfortunately, these are the two only options available for a full blog integration in WordPress.com.

    Would it be possible for WordPress.com to offer integration with an email marketing provider with EU based servers?

    I am currently using Mailrelay.com as an email provider and I am very happy with them. I believe they would be a very good option.
