    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  • Hi there,

    1) have existing webpage ran under shopify and wanna move on to wordpress, is there a migrate function?

    There is.

You’ll need an ecommerce plugin like WooCommerce to host an online store on a WordPress site. This requires our Business or eCommerce plan on WordPress.com.

Once you have your new WordPress.com site set up and WooCommerce installed, you can then use the built-in CSV importer in WooCommerce to import your products. To import your customer and order data as well, you’ll need the premium add-on, https://woocommerce.com/products/customerorder-csv-import-suite/.

There are also third-party migration plugins/services, like Cart2Cart to help you migrate all your data over.

This article on the WooCommerce blog explains the steps in a bit more detail:

How to migrate from Shopify to WooCommerce (and why you should)

    2) how many percentage per transaction?

We don’t take any percentage of your transactions as your hosting provider. You just pay us for the Business or eCommerce plan, and potentially for your domain and email, if you buy those services directly from us.

Transaction fees will be payable to your payment processor you use for the site, so how much those are will depend on the specific payment processors and payment gateway plugins you use.

For the WooCommerce Payments service built into WooCommerce, you can find their pricing here:

    https://woocommerce.com/document/payments/faq/fees

However, you can also use Stripe, PayPal, Square, Klarna, or any other payment processor that offer a payment gateway plugin for WooCommerce.

    3) do you have mobile apps to show notification if there is sales?

You’ll be able to use the WooCommerce mobile app for this.

There is a WordPress mobile app, but that only lets you manage your site itself, i.e. posts, pages, comments, some settings. It doesn’t support any features added to a site by plugins, like products and orders added by WooCommerce.

But the WooCommerce app lets you manage orders on your site, and you can also set it up to send you notifications for new orders, etc.

Once your site is set up on our end and WooCommerce installed, just log into the WooCommerce app with your WordPress.com username, and you should see your site there.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this.
