Interface…

I hate the ‘new look’ interface on my sites. How do I go back to the old look?

    So…
As usual, as soon as I post, I find an answer somewhere else, making my original post rather unnecessary.
    I apologize for that.

Now I need to say a few things about the way this has been handled.

    So, the look has changed.
    Without warning.
    Without fanfare.
Boom. Done. Nothing you can say’s gonna change the fact.

And I can retain the “old interface” look to my admin section, if I take a few extra steps.
    That’s the part I don’t get.

Why was something which was so easy to implement now more difficult?
You may say the addition of one or two steps isn’t really that much more difficult, and I agree.
My question is WHY it has to be ANY MORE difficult at all?

    The idea of “improvement”?
    Change for change’s sake?

It’s a lousy way to run a railroad, I can tell you that.
The idea that “it’s not broken, but let’s fix it anyway” has caused more grief on this planet than most others I can think of.

Your idea of an “improved user interface” isn’t necessarily my idea.
Your sense of esthetics are not my idea of a ‘clean’ look.

Isn’t there enough room on your servers to accommodate both styles?
Yes, with the addition of a few steps…

You’ve already removed features and functionality from the old style.
Now you’ve removed the style itself, requiring hoops for those of us who were well-versed and content to now jump through.

    What’s next?
Requiring us to write the code for you?

    Rant off.

    I apologize to anyone offended.
I have nothing but kind language for the hard working people at WordPress.

    Sometimes, though…
