How come intergalactic theme can suddenly change font ? It use to be Raleway then suddenly Raleway is gone and when checking, font is still set on “default” … also when checking the “choose theme page”, the font has been changed as well….Does this mean wordpress decided to change the font in the theme without any prior notification ?

Thank you for the links. Still this is just confirming what I supposed… I’ve been using intergalactic for a week and all default fonts have been changed today.
Guess I’ll just try to change them manually to raleway….

All blogs wearing the same theme here use the same underlying template. That template is on the live demo site http://intergalacticdemo.wordpress.com/ and only Staff can access it and edit it.

Do you have a custom design upgrade? You cannot change the site title font or any title fonts or widget title fonts without one.
Note that no changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header, etc. which are stated on the theme description pages in the features column (right hand side) will be visible to visitors.
If you are into fiddling about with font families, sizes and/or colors on each and every post you make by using the Text editor (HTML editor) then you can change it in the body text in posts and pages. But for changing it in Titles and widgets you need to purchase an upgrade.
These are 3 ways to change fonts on WordPress.com blogs.
(1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the Text ie. HTML editor. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/formatting-text-pt-5/
(2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2
(3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support.

HI, thank you for the infos, I do have a custom design upgrade and usually go through CSS with the help of staff support. I actually already adjusted some things on my blog with it… In fact The previous raleway font was nicer but was cut on some screens… (tittles were ok on Ipad, and Imac but cut on macbook pro as the tittle is long….) I tried to check with the support but didn’t have answer yet… Anyway now that the font is different i’ll try to find one as close to the design I want but solving this issue at the same time…..

I checked the recent history on Intergalactic and I don’t see any intentional changes to its default font.
At the moment, I see the Raleway Thin custom font selected in your Customizer as well as on your site itself.
It’s possible there was a temporary issue with your site reaching the Typekit servers when you were looking at it. Typekit is the service that provides custom fonts to WordPress.com.
If you notice any unexpected behaviour with custom fonts again on your site, please feel free to update this thread or start a new one here and I’ll have another look.

Yes, I intentionally set back the default font to railway…. Thanks to this strange thing, I discovered this font which I like a lot :-)
I will let you know if anything happens again…
