internal 500 server error only returning in the wp-admin

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I cannot click on anything on the sidebar while logged into the wp-admin side. It keeps returning an internal server error. I checked with the hosting site and they said there was no issue on the server side. If someone could please troubleshoot the issue and have it resolved so I can backup the website before upgrading that would be great. ( also, had to update the php version from 5.2 to 5.4 in order to use backup plugin which I assume is the reason for the 500 error)

    Hi annibrahim

Can you let us know your site URL?

Looks like you are using WordPress.org platform. If yes then your site is using WordPress.org software which is hosted on another host. So WordPress.com forum is not the right place to get the solution for your question.

You can post your question in WordPress.org forum:
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

For more information here is the support documentation link below:

WordPress.com forum helps the sites hosted on WordPress.com only

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are both different platforms, you can find more information for this here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

You’ll need a free WordPress.org account to post – if you don’t already have one, you can register here:

    Hope this helps
