Internal corporate blogs
-
We want to set up an internal corporate blog to communicate to all staff the progress of a new IT transformation project. This will be a private site avaliable to approximately 600 staff. We want to know:
– if we can use the free hosting site?
– can we export all the email addresses to our corporate blog as viewers and can they comment on the blog. I set up a test site to try and it only allowed up to 10 email addresses at a time.If anyone has any experience in a corporate private blog and could recommend a way forward I’d love to hear from you.
Many thanks

1) yes, but it will be slightly nightmarish to force all 600 people to get a WordPress.com identity. Expect delays, and use their work emails to Invite them.
2) yes, but you can only invite ten at a time. You can invite all six hundred, you will just have to do batches of ten sixty times.

I would think a corporation could afford independent hosting where you would have much better controls on user and data privacy. It’s really very inexpensive.

In fact, I don’t know of too many corporations that might have 600 employees that don’t already have their own website.
