    Hi there,

You’ve asked this question in the WordPress.com forums which is for support for sites running on the WP.com platform.

Your site, http://www.johnmitchellracing.co.uk, is a self-hosted WordPress site hosted by daily.co.uk/Tsohost. To get help with your issue, please visit their support pages at: https://www.tsohost.com/support

For more information on the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, please see this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately TSO refused to help without verification details authenticating a personal account with the company. Details which WordPress never provided me with whilst creating my webpage.

In addition to this inquiry wordpress.org have informed me that no such account can accessed from their servers either.

As wordpress.com has always been my only sole means of editing and accessing my webpage for publishing how may this situation be rectified?

    Hi there,

On further investigation, it looks like Tsohost is the domain name registrar, and that Sysgroup is the webhost: https://www.sysgroup.com/resources/support

I don’t see any evidence that your site is hosted on WordPress.com. I will tag this post so that a Staff member will look at it. I can’t find any more information for you.

  • You’re correct. johnmitchellracing.co.uk is not on the WordPress.com service.

    Hi Liz,

Whilst you are correct that the website is (as already discussed) self hosted by wordpress.org, the editing, access and publication of the site johnmitchellracing.co.uk has been performed via my account at wordpress.com for many years. Unfortunately after an update of my wordpress.com account today all of these services have ceased to function and my webpage is not accessible.

I am now requesting is a clear resolution to this issue as I have already contacted all other second party potential contributors and found no other information regarding personal accounts or solutions related to my webpage.

You may be connected to your site via Jetpack, a plugin that lets a WordPress.com account connect to a self-hosted website for posting.

But an internal server error is something else entirely. That would be on the hosting provider to sort out. Were you able to contact Sysgroup about your hosted site? Can you log in to your hosting account to see your site information is still there?

WordPress.org does not host any sites, they only create the standalone WordPress software.

    Hi Dan,

Apologies for my mistake regarding wordpress.org as this was information provided by other members of the wordpress.com support.

Jetpack was indeed one of the updates/plugins installed today. If I were to remove this plugin from connection to my webpage and wordpress.com account would this potentially resolve the issue.

If so, how may I go about doing so via my wordpress.com account?

  • Unknown's avatar

It *may* resolve the issue, but it’s hard to know. If you want to try that via your WordPress.com account, here’s the page with instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/

I don’t know how you’d go about reconnecting it if that doesn’t solve it – Jetpack provides some good services for your website. And it could be another plugin conflicting with Jetpack, or another update that needs to happen. This is why it’s a good idea to contact your hosting provider for help.

Good luck! Let us know if you need any more information.
