Aloha mummatreasure, It looks like you are working with a self-hosted WordPress.org site instead of the WordPress.com-hosted version supported here.

The forums are completely separate from each other, so you will need to register an account there if you haven’t done so already.

I actually use the wordpress.com to log in and make changes so i’m not sure that it is a WordPress.org account. IAnd I paid for it so it wasn’t free….

That error is a wordpress.ORG software error. That site is not on our WordPress.COM servers and we cannot help you.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, and many people get confused about the two.
