Internet Explorer 9 Beta and wordpress.com widget
-
I’m a former Windows Live Spaces user. As Microsoft is going to shut down its blogging services soon, I then moved to wordpress.com. I did not realize that the RSS feeds were not enabled for my blog ever since I began to run it in wordpress.com. I realized that with the use of widgets, I can easily enable easy access to RSS feeds of my blog. That is good.
My main web browser is Internet Explorer 9 Beta (with the rendering engine of Platform Preview 6). In the default Internet Explorer 9 Document Mode, customization of widget cannot be done in IE 9. There are two ways that will enable the customization. One, it is to add ‘wordpress.com’ in my compatibility list. Two, it’s to change the document mode using the developer tool which is available in IE 9.
Personally, I prefer to change the document mode. I would like my blog to be rendered using the most standard-compliant document mode. I hope that wordpress.com will update its widget feature to be compatible with IE 9 document mode. So, this topic is initiated not to ask for help but to call wordpress.com for an appropriate action. Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. Internet Explorer 9 is still in Beta mode, which means there are several things that may not work properly…

My suggestion is to never use a beta browser for any sort of production work because it is beta (not finished). If you like IE, then I would suggest sticking with IE8 until IE9 is in full release and wordpress has a little time to fix the issues.

As others above have mentioned, utilize a full non-Beta Browser while working on your Blog (IE: FireFox, Safari, Opera, IE7/8, etc).
Not only will this limit the amount of bugs you encounter, it will also give you the better options on what your readership will be seeing (since more than likely much of your readership will not bee viewing your Blog on a Beta browser).
Best of luck! :)
