  I’m so happy that you got the answer from Staff that confirmed what we Volunteers had already posted. Use of all widgets provided by WordPress.COM is optional. The relevant support doc reveals that the Internet Defense League widget is an opt-in widget like all others. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/internet-defense-league-widget/

  Both outrage and paranoia certainly does run deep and that is witnessed by the public response to revelation of the existence of NSA surveillance and it’s extent.
