Intra-site link is a ping-back and a comment?
-
When I link from a page that I’m editing to another page on my own blog, it always generates a ping-back item in my “recent comments” list. This seems wrong. An intra-site link is neither a ping-back nor a comment, and I should not have to approve it anyway since I am the author of the site. What’s the deal here? Is there a way to restrict the comments list to actual comments? I want to do lots of intra-site links but I don’t want them cluttering up my comments list. Am I doing something wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can disable pingbacks under Settings->Discussion I believe. You’re not doing anything wrong. It works this way on Wp.com.

Here’s how to disable self-pings > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pingbacks/#can-i-stop-self-pings
I don’t bother. I approve the ones I want to approve and send the others to Trash.
