  I am new to WordPress. (A 34 Year-Old IT Graduate from Northern Ireland wishing to launch a Creative Writing Project)

  My main question is, how do I best network to gain a wider audience for my Blog/Website? I am already on LinkedIn and Facebook, but find it difficult to reach out. (I have attempted Blogs before using Blogger, but very few followed me)

  Any advice will be welcome

  If you want to increase traffic then don’t listen to anyone who professes there are passive ways of doing that. Increasing traffic to a blog is hard work. If you want your blog to rank well in search engine results then that begins with creating and publishing original content ie. unique content that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet.
