Invalid Address, buttons not working.

Because I use the same tags and categories in most of my posts, I’ll often copy an old post from my ‘blog posts’ screen and put in new text. Today, no matter what post I work with, I get an error:
    Invalid Post Address
This post cannot be found. Check the web address or start a new post.

    Upon clicking copy.

I try to create a new post, but the page only partially loads. I’ve tried this on two computers on both Chrome and IE11 with the same issue.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble!

Can you send over an example post that you are working with that gives you this error message when you try to copy it?

I’d also like to better understand the exact steps that you are taking. Are you copying over the URL or the content within the post?

The better I understand your exact process, the better I’ll be able to help!

  • Hi stycril,

That sounds odd. The fact that this occurs on multiple browsers rules out a browser-specific issue.

You may be copying over some invalid code from the original post. To see if this is the cause, please try to copy an old post from the HTML editor, instead of the visual editor. You can paste the HTML version of an old post into the HTML editor of a new post, then switch back to the Visual editor in the new post to edit and see if you are able to post.

Another thing to consider would be have you installed any new programs on your computer recently, such as anti-virus software or a new operating system? These can sometimes interfere with your experience on WordPress.

Please report back and let us know if either of these two options fix the issue!
