invalid archives Links

  today I delete some older posts.
  But my archives link still show the months where post is zero after delete.

  when I click on the archives it shows me “Error 404 – Not Found”
  as there is no post for that month in the archive link.

  It means wordpress delete post but it did not update the archive links.
  (for the zero post months)

  Any hits ?

  I’m not sure but I think the archives are coded to show all months, aren’t they? Even months there never were any original posts.
