‘Invalid’ blocks that I can’t edit

Just recently, I see that when I’ve published, I can no longer edit my written content. I compose in another program and cut and paste my words, which I’ve always done almost, and this has hitherto worked fine. It is easier to re-edit on the published screen since we don’t see how the piece will look when we’re composing it, and that is a big drawback. Preview is not enough. Now every paragraph has some message about invalidity and is blanked out. I don’t want to risk your offer of recovering or converting it to HTML.

I read the article which wasn’t helpful and assumes we think, or want to think, in blocks and will likely damage what I’ve written. It doesn’t explain what it will do if we press it.

Please explain what is going wrong. It means that any mistakes or updates cannot be corrected. I also want to say that I don’t like the block system – I liked classic, and functionality has been lost since you changed this – eg, being able to shrink pictures and wrap text, or change the font.

**I need a personal private response. We are fed up of being fobbed off to forums and by impersonal staff. I wish to hear from staff only**

It’s a bad idea to write your text in another programme and copy it to wordpress.com. Another programme e.g. Word doesn’t use html. When you copy your text, all the non-html gets erased. When you save from Word to html, you get a very sloppy html with a lot of garbage resulting in errors.
