Invalid Country error when domain mapping

I am trying to map my domain to my blog. When I get the notification of invalid country. My Paypal account is valid and I have used it for other transactions. Why is wordpress blocking this transaction?

Below are the only accepted means of payment.
WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/
If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country.
In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.
The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

The country I’m from, Kenya, is among the countries supported by PayPal and yet it’s not included in the dropdown list nor is payment being processed.

Kenya is not a supported country, sorry. You will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of Kenya.

Could you please explain what you mean by supported, because in the link you provided, paypal clearly shows the country is supported.
Or is the lack of support a WordPress issue?

The issue is that PayPal has chosen to block payment from Kenya.

And I regularly use Paypal, so I’m highly sceptical that Paypal is blocking the account for this one transaction.

Staff validated Paypal as a payment option.
I regularly use Paypal as a payment option.
Paypal links Kenya as a valid country in the link YOU provided.Please explain the disconnect.
