Invalid Key [1] error in Internet Explorer
-
When I try to log in to see my statistics or to make a post in Internet Explorer 10, I enter my username and password, then I get the 2 factor password and enter that information as well. The next screen that comes up has the WordPress logo and bar at the top, but the rest of the screen is blank. If I then go to another WordPress-powered site (such as BGR.com), I see an error message that says “Invalid Key [1]. Back”
I’m able to access the site using Firefox, though. So I know it’s something IE specific, I just don’t know whether it’s a setting in my browser or if the site is pushing some code that has a problem.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Please check to see if you have both first and third-party cookies enabled

Hi there,
As Timethief suggest, could you please verify that your browser is set to accept third party cookies and also does not have compatibility mode enabled? Let me know if that resolves the issue!
Thank you much.

Hi! Thank you both VERY much for trying to help! Sorry for the delayed response. Both third party and first party cookies are enabled (and set to always). Compatibility mode is enabled, but it isn’t kicking in when WordPress.com (or my blog) is loaded.
For what it’s worth, I can’t even respond here (this thread in the forum) in Internet Explorer. I can log in, but the forum never actually “sees” me as logged in (it asks me to log in again).
I’m using IE 10.0.9200.

Could you try temporarily disabling compatibility mode and letting me know if that has any effect on it? It sounds like IE just isn’t properly recording cookies, so it may also be a security setting as well.

Tried disabling compatibility mode, and it didn’t help. My guess is that it’s a cookie issue, but I’m at a loss as to where to go to fix it.
