Our ISP is Bell Aliant (In Canada)- not sure if there is sub-leasing or not….how do I find out?
Yes, that is the message I get when I go to my blog site, and any other WP site, but ONLY WHEN I”M LOGGED IN. If I log out, I can go to other WP blogs and read them. Still not mine, though.
-
Do you have any luck if you check or un-check “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages” at Users -> Personal Settings in your Dashboard?
-
-
Ok, now I can get to my blog if I’m logged out- first time just now! But still when I log in and try to preview the blog from the dashboard, I’m getting the same invalid key message.
-
I had earlier set it so that I was the only one who could see it, because I don’t want it up and running until I’ve built the site. I removed that security setting temporarily, but I plan to put it back in place tonight.
-
i tried ticking the https setting and it didn’t help.
what about my idea about the fact that i have two wordpress blogs with two different usernames?
embracinggrace: is there any chance you have two blogs? I realize I’m reaching for things here but there must be something we have in common that is causing this.
-
Makeitprettyme, no I only have 1 WP blog. I have been blogging with Blogger for years, and have 2 blogs with them. However, I’m kind of starting over with one of them and decided to go with WP. I don’t know if they would be connected or not?
-
You know what, I’ve been doing some research, and it looks like HughesNet may be the ISP for Canadian based internet….so who do I call to get this fixed- Hughes or Bell Aliant?
-
Just chatted with Bell Aliant. They have their own internet, and have no feature called turbo page. I’m pretty stumped. This is really frustrating!! If I hadn’t paid for my URL I would just start over. It must be something with how the page is configured.
All my friends have been trying to get me over to WP. But as of yet I am not impressed. -
No, the blog itself is fine. There’s something going in your connection.
Do you have any luck if you reset your modem or router? If not, can you check from somewhere else, like a friend’s house, neighbor, café, etc?
-
the blog is fine to you because you are not logged in. It’s fine for me, too, when I’m not logged in. But what’s the point of that when you can’t preview the site or even choose a theme because you have to log out to see what it looks like, etc.? This is insane. I have never had trouble like this with Blogger and I’ve been with them for years.
-
I’d even be willing to give my password (change it later) if it would help someone figure this out. It’s something between the dashboard connecting to the blog.
-
I am logged in, and have also checked while logged in as you. It’s not an issue with your blog or your account.
There’s something wrong with your browser configuration, network, or ISP. Would you mind resetting your router and modem or checking from different locations some time today?
-
I did reset the router earlier…just pushed the reset button. Should I turn it off and back on again?
I will try from elsewhere as soon as I can.
How do I get this fixed then? I’ve chatted with 2 people from Bell Aliant today and both insisted it was nothing to do with them. I don’t even know what to ask them to check on their end….any ideas? Because this is the only site that does this…and has ever done this. -
So you tried logging in with my username and password and it worked for you?
Should I just give up or is there really a solution? -
Ok – some progress. I tried logging in to my dashboard on a different computer here at work (a brand new one in fact) and i did not experience the problem. When I use my laptop (which I use both at home and at work) I still have the problem so obviously it is some setting on my laptop that is causing the problem. I had previously tried deleting the cache and cookies but that hadn’t helped so not sure what else to do….
-
Oh….If you figure it out let me know! Although I tried on our desktop and got the same problem….so I know it’s not just my laptop. :(
It’s awful when two companies don’t agree on who has the problem. I feel like a bouncing ball…. -
both your desktop and laptop are at your house I presume? i have that same issue at home with different computers. but here at work i was able to use a different computer that has never been to my house and that one is fine. seems like something from my ISP provider or from my router has some lasting affect on my laptop even when I’m not there. strangest thing i’ve ever seen!
