These are the troubleshooting steps we take whenever any issues like this arise:
clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version) http://browsehappy.com/
confirming third party cookies is enabled http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=61416
confirming JavaScript is enabled http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654
confirming Flash is updated http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and if required installing the latest version of Flash http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
resetting your router and modem and rebooting your computer
then logging in using the secure https:// log-in see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

I’m having the same issue over the past week (only sometimes, not all the time), and I’m using Firefox.

@deansshots
Which version of IE are you using? If it’s IE9 and you are running in compatibility mode that reduces the browser function to IE7 and IE7 is no longer supported. -
@justinejohnsonphotography
Which version of Firefox are you using please? If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ -
I’m having the same problem. Firefox 13.0.1.
If I go to a different page, for instance ‘stats’, and then click on ‘new post’ I don’t get the error.
-
The same here, firefox 13.0.1, very often “invalid request” error when publishing a new post.
-
I’m having this issue also on my private blog. I use Chrome version 20.0.1132.47 and it started a couple of weeks ago. I have cleared my cache, checked my cookie status and certainly don’t use BETA versions of anything, nor do I have plugins enabled on my Chrome. I’ve rebooted both computer and router in between attempts and it still does this.
Copying and pasting the same dialogue into a new “new post” usually resolves the issue, but is involving rather a lot of extra hassle.

Hmm, when I’m logged in and my URL is
http://wordpress.com/#!/post/
I receive the error messageBut when I goto my blog page
http://timesharevacationnow.wordpress.com/
and click the New post link in the upper right area of the webpage I don’t have this issue …I use IE9. In both cases the URL doesn’t change when I click the Now Post icon.
-
Err, I meant to say when i click the “New Post” icon for http://timesharevacationnow.wordpress.com/ or the “Write a Post” link for http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ the URL doesn’t change … but I receive the Invalid Request message for http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ and a successful post for http://timesharevacationnow.wordpress.com/

If you happen to be running IE9 in compatibility mode that reduces the rendering to that of IE7 and IE7 is not supported.
If you are running Avir anti-virus then it has been causing issues too.

“Display All Websites in Compatibility View” is not selected and there are not any websites in the “Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View” either … I don’t use Avira

Hi,
We’ve identified and corrected the issue. The affected blogs are each being fixed individually.
If yours has not been fixed yet, it should be in a few hours.
Thanks!

Hi there! I’m having this problem too. ‘Invalid request’ when I try to post something. Has the problem been resolved for everyone else yet?
-
I had the exact same issue again last night, so whatever it was they fixed, it hasn’t resolved it for all of us
-
I’m also having this same issue. I had to use try three different browsers (Chrome, Safari and Firefox, respectively) to publish my post. Sometimes one browser works, another time it doesn’t. If there’s something that can be done, I appreciate it. Thanks!
