Invalid Server Resposne error when using Windows Live Writer (wordpress.com)

    I’ve been using WLW in combination with wp.com for a long time. Recently, as of maybe a couple of months ago, I’ve been unable to open drafts written via the web, within WLW. When I try, I see the error:

    The response to the metaWeblog.getRecentPosts method received from the blog server was invalid:

    Invalid response document returned from XmlRpc server

    The same operation works fine on my self-hosted WordPress instance, and used to work on WordPress.com until recently. Does anyone know a fix? I’ve read a few posts and other than one person saying that they contacted support, none of the posts I read were very helpful.

    I’m sorry but we Volunteers don’t seem to have a solution for this. When Staff reactivate the support link you will have to contact them and ask for help. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.
