invisible FB share button
-
Hi… I recently lost the “FB share button” at the bottom of my articles, althought it is activated in the “Sharing buttons”… I only see the “Email” logo, not FB… I tried to add Threads and it worked, but not with FB… actually, the FB button disappear after I add the Thread button (which I ended up removing)…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It sounds like you’re experiencing a common “display conflict” within the Jetpack sharing settings, where the Facebook button is being suppressed by a cached configuration or a layout rule. Since adding the Threads button caused the Facebook icon to vanish, it’s likely that the “Sharing Label” or the “Button Style” (icons only vs. text and icons) needs to be toggled to force the system to refresh its visual grid. To fix this, I recommend going back to Settings > Sharing, temporarily switching the “Button Style” to a different setting (like “Official Buttons”), saving it, and then switching it back to your preferred “Icon Only” style; if it still doesn’t appear, ensure that the Facebook icon hasn’t been accidentally dragged into the “Hidden” or “More” section of the sharing drag-and-drop editor, which would relegate it to a secondary menu rather than displaying it directly alongside the Email logo.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I did what you suggested and the FB icon appears, but not the “official buttons”. The icon and the text both appear as well.

To remove the unwanted text and restore the branded look, click on the parent Social Icons block in your editor and toggle off the “Show labels” option in the settings sidebar. If you want the icon to display its “Official” Facebook blue instead of your theme’s default colors, navigate to the Styles tab (the half-filled circle icon) within the block settings and select the “Official Color” style. For the actual interactive “official” buttons that allow visitors to share your content, you may need to ensure they are enabled under Settings → Sharing in your WordPress dashboard, as those are managed separately from the manual icons you place in the editor.

I meant that I can see the colored FB icons OR the Icons with the text (not both at the same time)… but I still cannot see the colored “official button” although it is selected in my settings…
