Invisible sharing buttons, please help!?
-
Hope you can help me!?
Sharing buttons are invisible in the admin on my desktop computer. They are also invisible when browsing my blog and other WordPress blogs. If I like to respons, I have to do that via the reader. I did try to force refresh the Settings > Sharing page (hold Shift, press the reload button), but it didn’t help.
Sharing buttons are visible in the admin on my iPad and when browsing, they are also visible in the WordPress app. I would love to use the Pinterest button too, but it is invisible in Settings > Sharing on my desktop computer, it is visible on my tablet but there I can’t drag the button to Enabled Services. Can you help to solve this? On both, iMac and iPad I use Safari.
Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see the sharing buttons. The best place for WordPress iOS app support is here: http://ios.forums.wordpress.org/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
WordPress for iOS 3.9 is the latests version https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wordpress/id335703880?mt=8
If you have two-step setup, you need an application specific password to use the mobile app. You can set one of those up by logging into your WordPress.com site on a computer and going to:

Thank you for your quick answer!
The problems I have are not with the iPad or the App, but with the desktop version. There the buttons are invisible, in the admin but also while browsing WordPress blogs on the Internet.
On the iPad I can see them, but I can’t drag the buttons to enable them.I can’t see the buttons on my desktop computer.
I don’t know how to solve this.
Thanks again! -
I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Another Volunteer may answer prior to Staff but I tagged the thread so it will not fall through the cracks and escape attention. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thank you so much, that is kind of you!
I have some screen prints of how I see it in the admin and on the Internet, do you like to see them?
Anyway, I will be patient:)
Thanks again! -
Yes please post screenshots, upload them to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file names so Staff can examine them.
-
-
After you return and post the file names don’t post to the thread again because it moves the timestamp forward and it will take longer to get Staff help if you do.

The file names of the 3 screenshots are:
settings sharing not many buttons
invisible buttons my blog
no buttons signed out version -

Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?
Otherwise please try clearing out your cache and cookies using the guide below:
-
Thanks so much for your response! In Firefox I can see all the buttons, so I did enable the Pinteresst button and I regurlarly clear out cache and cooking.
I still don’t understand why I can’t work with Safari, I can’t see the sharing buttons on other people’s blog either and I prefer Safari to work with.
Anyway, I can solve problems with Firefox as my standby browser.
Thanks again! -
Could you try to reset Safari using these instructions? http://support.apple.com/kb/ph11914

Just to be sure, can’t you see the button on the front page? or on an individual post page? or both?

http://elisabethandree.wordpress.com/2014/02/16/a-toy-for-a-dog/I’ve just checked with OSX Snow Leopard and the Safari 5.1 browser and I see all buttons. Have you tried to visit your blog using Safari on a different computer?
-
Hello!
I can’t see the buttons on the front page or on individual posts and I can’t see the buttons on other WordPress sites. There is no difference between signed in or signed out, I can’t see them.In the reader it is possible to like or write a comment on other WordPress sites, but the sharing buttons are invisible too.
I have OS X version 10.9.1 and Safari version 7.0.1. One friend has a similar computer and the same browser, but she is out of reach at the moment, so I can’t check if she can see the sharing buttons.

Does it work when you view a WordPress.com blog other than yours?
For example: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2014/02/17/support-blog-tools/Make sure Javascript is enabled in your brower
1. Select the Safari menu item from the Apple/System bar at the top of the screen.
2. From the drop-down menu, select Preferences.
3. Select the Security icon/tab at the top of the window.
4. Then, check the Enable JavaScript checkbox under the Web content category.
5. Close the window to save your changes.
6. Finally, refresh your browser. -
Thanks so much for your support!
Javascript is enabled in Safari and no, unfortunately I can’t see the sharing buttons on any other WordPress blog. -
Could you please try this:
Enable Developer Mode:
1: Open the Safari menu and select Preferences…
2: Click on the Advanced tab of the popup which appears.
3: Select Show Develop menu in menu bar.Once Developer Mode is enabled:
4: Open the Develop menu and select Show Error Console.
5: Go to the web page you are having trouble with.
6: The Error Console should show you any errors on this page; copy & paste these errors and post these in this thread. -
The Error Console shows these on the homepage:
